26 weeks.

{and growing.}

I really am loving this stage of pregnancy. He is moving so much more and with every movement, I am feeling a closer bond. I know this doesn't make much sense, but I truly feel like I am going to miss him when he isn't in my belly.

{twin girls!}

Good morning! Sorry, I failed again at keeping up with my posts. I had a ton of work to catch up on after my trip to Mexico... and my computer is still not my friend. The good news is that I am getting a new computer in the next few weeks. So hopefully things will go a bit more smoothly next month!

These pictures best represent this past week... lots of puppy time, date night with my mister on Friday night, dinner and a comedy show in San Francisco with friends on Saturday night and a lovely baby shower for my friend who is having twin girls on Sunday!

Wishing you all a happy Monday.

puppy has a new home!

{sweet girl.}

I am so happy to share with you all that this sweet girl has been adopted by a lovely lady here in Napa! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. All of the love and support was overwhelming and much appreciated.

the puppy.

This little miss is seriously the sweetest thing ever! We are both in love with her, but know there is no way we can keep her with a baby coming. She is pretty independent and definitely holds her own with Pablo, but she also loves to be held and snuggle. Oh and I love to snuggle with puppies!

At this point we really don't know anything else about her. My husband seems to think she has some Boxer and Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed in there somewhere. She does have webbed feet like Pablo and already loves to fetch. You should see her trying to carry a tennis ball... hilarious! I think she will be smaller than Pablo, but who knows! I do know she will make an amazing companion to someone.

Oh and if you look at the pictures you can see that one of her ears is off a bit! My sister pointed it out yesterday... too cute.

surprise!

{thank goodness my husband loves puppies more than i do.}

Hello! I brought this little girl back with me from Todos Santos last night. She is from the same lady who helped me get Pablo... apparently someone put her in her courtyard a few weeks back and she hasn't had any luck finding her a home down there. The truth is, most of people in Todos already have 5 rescue dogs and it isn't easy to find homes for new ones. I brought her home because we are hoping to have more luck up here in California. Sooooo if anyone is looking for a puppy or knows someone who wants one, please, please pass her along! I am going to take more photos today and post all of her information by tomorrow.

Thank you!!!!

{rancho pescadero . brings back the most special memories.}

Coming home today... and bringing a bit of a surprise back. Well, not exactly a surprise, but something special. Hopefully my darling man feels the same way. Actually, I know he won't, but the good news is that he loves me and is kind of stuck with me. Will reveal all details tomorrow.

ps --  if you have guessed what I mean by surprise and you are friends with Matt, please, please keep it to yourself until I get home. :)

{miss girdie girl.}

We spent the day yesterday at my parent's new house on the beach here in Todos Santos. The picture above is of their pup Gertrude... she was a rescue they were trying to find a home for, but ended up falling in love with and kept for themselves. I love her!

I am on limited internet access here in Mexico, so will post more photographs when I return!

{mexico breakfast day two • banana pancakes with ham + fruit}

Yesterday we had breakfast at one of my favorite little morning spots here in Todos Santos, La Esquina. So full and satisfied I actually skipped lunch!

Have more to share, but people are waiting on me to leave for the beach... so wishing you all a happy Saturday. xo

{mexico breakfast day one.}

Buenos dias. Love waking up here in Todos Santos. Had a wonderful first day in Mexico yesterday... started with a morning run to town to find fresh buns for our hamburger dinner. Was unsuccessful as the bakery didn't open until 2 pm, but we did find a delicious shrimp taco stand where I had my first 2 out of 5 shrimp tacos (yes, I have a small addiction to shrimp tacos). Then went on a short walk on the beach, read my book by the pool and headed back in to town to meet up with some friends who were here for the night. Had my second round of shrimp tacos and some delicious passion fruit and lime with rosemary ice cream. Followed by a tour of town and a longer walk on the beach (walking on the beach pregnant is not easy). Finished up the day with a BBQ at my parent's new house with our favorite Todos Santos friends, Jack and Linda and my Napa Valley friends Chris and Alexa. The only thing missing was my man... otherwise it would have been a perfect first day!

{perfect snack after a long day of travel. thank you terri... best chef ever!}

Wouldn't you know... I was up, showered and out the door by 5.30 am yesterday to go to the bank and drop something off at the escrow company. Bags already packed and at my dad's house the day before (soooo unlike me!). All I needed was to go back home and finish a few things for work before leaving the house at 6.30 am. Once I got back home, I noticed that my passport was missing from my little pile of things on the table. After tearing apart the house, I realized that I must have left it at the store yesterday when I used it to write a check (very much like me!). So now it is 6 am, the store doesn't open until 9 am and I am begging their corporate offices to get in touch with someone who can let me in ASAP. After leaving several messages for the manager, I pretty resolved myself to the fact that I was not flying out yesterday. Called my dad in tears to tell him I can't go... he told me no one would leave their passport at a store and to look some more (I know he doesn't believe that... because I am the one who always loses her credit cards and driver license). Finally at 7 am I notice a magazine that I was planning on bringing with me on the plane placed on the top of a bowl on a very high shelf... one higher than my eye level. As it turns out my sweet and ever so thoughtful husband moved my things the night before... or as he put it, cleaned up. Thank goodness he wasn't home or I may have harmed him. Who puts a passport in a bowl on a high shelf and then covers it with magazines!?!? :)

Had a lovely dinner at Norman Rose Tavern in Napa last night. I just love Patrick... as soon as we sat down he brought this pregnant lady a plate of fried pickles... they were AMAZING!

Running out the door for the airport! Happy Wednesday. xo

{todos santos cafe}

Tomorrow I am leaving my mister behind to head down to Todos Santos to see my parents. Very much looking forward to this time off to spend time with my family, eat yummy food, read and of course take lots of photographs of my favorite home away from home.

{twenty four weeks.}

good morning + happy sunday to you! yesterday was such a beautiful day here in napa. took pablo out for a walk at alston park in the morning and then went shopping with a friend for maternity work wear (which turned out to be as unsuccessful as every time before, but i had a nice time with my friend!) and then met up with my clients to give them some good news.

poor mister b went fishing and got stuck in the mud. apparently, he had to wait hours for high tide to roll in and get him unstuck. all i can say is thank goodness i wasn't with him!

yesterday i only snapped one photograph and that was with my phone... twenty four weeks and this boy is kicking like crazy. after having such a rough start, i really didn't think i would ever enjoy pregnancy... but as it has progressed, i am loving it more and more. i feel full of so much love and gratitude!

xo.

i dream...

I came across this image somewhere online and it immediately transported me into thinking about summer. To me, this is the definition of the best holiday away from home. Note to Mister B, one day I want one of these.

{early evening walk.}

almost, almost didn't get a chance to photograph yesterday. or i should say, almost didn't make any time. i am kind of loving this project because if it wasn't for the fact that i needed to get a photo, i would have continued to work through the day into the night at my computer... missing the early evening walk with my man and my pup that turned out to be so unexpectedly special.

nursery inspiration | seating no. 1

I have to say I am on the fence with regards to getting a rocker. Since this is my first baby I can't say whether or not I will use one. And I hate buying something I have no idea I will use. Half of me wants to just scrap the idea and get a twin sized bed instead. But in the back of my head I keep remembering a piece of advice I received recently from a friend who has three little ones. She said I should definitely get one, but splurge and make sure it is something that will look good outside of the nursery. Something I can use in the kitchen or living room after the baby is grown. Something that doesn't look like a rocker used for nursing (if that makes sense!) So... going with that bit of advice, I have compiled this lovely list of favorites below. I am currently leaning towards the Luxe Glider by Jennifer Delonge (no. 4) which I would cover in a flax colored linen (similar to no. 1). But, I have always wanted an excuse to buy the Eames Molded Rocker... and what better time than now!?

photograph a day FAIL

Less than two weeks in and I have already failed at taking and posting a photograph a day. But, I promise you, it wasn't that I didn't want to pick up my camera... The truth is, that after a crazy few days of shooting and editing, my hard drive decided to crash on me yesterday. Actually, it was my external hard drive... the one that I use to backup my computer and store all of my photos on. The one that if I had to choose between my computer or this little device, I wouldn't think twice about picking the little device. It is my life! And I blame it all on my friend... you know, because I had a conversation with him about his hard drive crashing with ALL of his data on it on Sunday... and I remember telling my husband that I should get another external hard drive to back up my back up soon. I should have known right then and there, mine was doomed.

Anyways, I do have a photograph I want to share in place of yesterday's absence. It is one that I took off of my cousin's facebook page (hope you don't mind megs) from our childhood. Love these memories.

nursery inspiration | no. 1

I have been getting a lot of inquiries lately about how I plan on decorating the baby's nursery... and when I respond with -- simple, plain, white walls, soft fabrics, no theme, something the baby can grow in to... All I get in response is a blank stare accompanied by a long "oh." So it got me thinking that maybe I need to spend some time finding inspiration online and compile it together here, on iheartnapa for easy reference.  Below are some images that I feel best fit what has been floating around in my head... each image has a bit of what I want to incorporate into the nursery. Simple and clean, with a mixture of both modern and vintage pieces...
