shop | poppy store {marin country mart}

I was asked last week by a lady who I have worked with in the past (a very talented lady I might add) to photograph the opening of the new Poppy Store located in the Marin Country Mart. Originally, I had turned it down because I had too much on my plate... but when my schedule suddenly freed up, I was happy to hear that they had not filled the spot. Since it was a job that I was hired to do, I can't share those photos just yet... however, I will say it was such a lovely store to photograph... full of the most precious children's clothing I have ever seen. So darling, I could not resist spending part of my paycheck right there on the spot (truthfully, I could have spent my entire paycheck, plus more... thank goodness I am not having a girl!!!).

Here are some of the goodies I came home with... too cute for words.
{crazy about this outfit from petit bateau.}
{i could not resist this hat by egg baby.}
{the most deliciously soft outfit from kissy kissy.}
{l o v e these feet.}
{just looking at this hat from petit bateau makes me excited to meet this little guy.}

Sometimes I don't know how I got so lucky... my husband is truly the sweetest man I know. I am ashamed to say I kind of woke up on the wrong side of the bed yesterday and was having a hard time getting motivated to do anything... mostly because I was starting to feel overwhelmed and very much like a deer in headlights. We have so much going on right now and even though most of it is great, I can't help but feel like every time I take a step forward, I take another two back. Don't get me wrong, I am truly the happiest I have ever been, but lately, some days I just feel lost. I was really hoping to get my life more organized before the baby, the room ready and feel ok about taking a month or so off... when you work for yourself it is hard not to work 24/7. Work is with me at all times and even though I love working, I really, really was looking forward to turning off my phone and doing nothing but bond with my baby for a good month. And now that we have decided to put his house on the market, well, it changes a lot of what we had planned. Secretly, I am thrilled to be moving back to my house... I LOVE my house. My heart belongs in my house (I guess I should now say our house!). But, I do not love the fact that we will be showing this house while trying to get ready for baby and then moving in to my house with a 2 month old. In a perfect world our tenant's lease would be up at the end of March, but in reality it is not up until June 30th... and although a move is usually not that bad (I have been through so many of them, they seem like second nature), we still have a lot of unfinished projects that I want done before moving in. A LOT. And it is making me so beyond anxious. My studio, the laundry room, the bathroom and the kitchen (to name a few). And the last thing I want to do is move back in with a 2 month old and have a million little projects going on all over the house. Once again, living out of boxes and spending more time worrying about these projects than being a new family.

So this brings me back to why I am so lucky... I sent Matt out to get some milk for my tea yesterday and he came back with flowers, milk, scones and a few more things we needed, but I hadn't ask him to get. It is amazing how such a small gesture can really turn everything around. His kindness and understanding combined with his big hugs reminded me that it doesn't really matter what my house looks like or how unorganized it will be,  or how crazy our life is as long as I am with him.

Happy Sunday to you!
{eggs benedict at alexis baking company in napa.}

Matt is not a big breakfast eater, so when he agreed to go with me to breakfast yesterday I was over the moon! It is seriously one of my most favorite things to do. I normally won't try to battle the crowds at ABC on the weekend, but since we were up early and it was raining, I figured we would have a good shot at a table on this particular weekend morning. Thankfully, I was right... and we landed a perfect table right by the window. After one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time, we headed over to two estate sales (both a bit of a disappointment)... and then came back home, where Matt finished cleaning out the garage and I made more of a mess in my office. I am pretty sure Matt thinks I am the most messy person ever. I have assured him that once I am in a house where I don't feel like I am living out of boxes and have a proper place to put everything, my clutter will go away. Hopefully saying that will get him to finally finish my studio and laundry room!

Happy Friday! Again, I find myself apologizing for my absence (wink, wink Terri). These past few weeks have been incredibly busy for me in my real estate and photography world... leaving my iheartnapa world behind. Oh and if my life wasn't already crazy enough, my mister and I decided to put his house on the market in a week or so... so every spare moment has been spent cleaning out closets, boxing up clutter and trying to figure out exactly what is going to fit into my cute little house.

I have been so busy that yesterday when I took a nasty little fall outside of the bank, I couldn't help but look at it as the universe telling me to slowdown. The photograph above was taken today while visiting the hospital. My little man was not as active as usual and after falling yesterday, I wanted to make sure he was OK... so, I am very happy to report that although I feel like I have been hit by a truck, he is just fine :)

Hope you all are staying dry or getting some good runs in up in Tahoe!

a perfect valentine.

{elliot . 2009}

I am not sure how I went from packing my house to organizing photographs on my faulty hard drive... but in doing so, I came across one of my favorite photographs of Elliot. I decided to post this picture for my mom... who I think might love him more than her own children :) Love you mom. Thank you for taking care of my little man. Wishing you a happy Valentine's Day.

shop | steed in st. helena

A few weeks ago I was asked by Remodelista to photograph a new store in St. Helena called Steed Fine Hoarding and Tack. Words can not describe how much I love this store (and Remodelista for the matter). I wanted to buy everything! Seriously, Dione is someone who I would happily give the keys to my house and let have free reign in designing. No questions asked. A girl can wish, right?

Here is the link to the article that was published today... and below are some of the extra photographs from the shoot.

28 weeks.

{12 more to go until a margarita!}

Hello and happy Sunday! I am 28 weeks pregnant as of today. Still feeling great, but finding myself having a hard time sleeping. Before this pregnancy I battled with insomnia for years and it more or less became something that was a part of me... and I seemed to live with it just fine. However, after discovering what sleep really felt like during my first two trimesters, I am finding myself mourning the loss of my new found love. Almost mad because I had lived so long without knowing what sleep was like and now that I have had a taste of it, I want it almost as bad as I want a pitcher of fresh margaritas!

sorry.

{todos santos at night.}

So sorry I have been MIA. Once again, this week has been pretty crazy with work... which is great because it means I am that much closer to getting some new camera equipment, but not so great because it means I failing at keeping up on iheartnapa. I promise I have been taking lots of photos... and will share hopefully by week's end!

ps - we ordered our crib... and it should be here in a few days!! very excited.

{how can i not do cloth diapers? these are too adorable!}

I picked up some more cloth diapers yesterday at Bumrite Diapers here in Napa. I think I officially have a diaper addiction.

nursery inspiration | cribs.

We have about 13 weeks left and I am way behind on getting the nursery ready. At this point in time we have a stroller, an infant car seat, a bunch of hand-me-down 0-3 month old clothing from our little nephew and a good start to our cloth diaper stash (thank you to Angela over at Bumrite Diapers). Is the nursery still full of boxes from when I moved here? YES! Does it still need to be painted? YES! Have I ordered anything? NO! This is a big decision and I have a hard enough time picking out a flavor of ice cream at the grocery store... let alone a crib that I plan on using for one maybe two children (let's see how this first one goes). With that said, I know we need to make a decision on the furniture by this weekend (some pieces give an estimated ship date 10+ weeks out). So here are the four cribs that I have narrowed our (really my) choices down to.

no. 1 Bam Crib Set by Argington | no. 2 Ray Crib by Muu | no. 3 Jenny Lind-Style Crib at Giggle | no. 4 Century Crib by Dwell Studio

{argington bam collection... kind of loving this bassinet!}
{the century crib by dwellstudio. also love that rug!}
{the jenny lind-style crib... i am torn between modern + this more traditional look.}

{little miss p.}

I went up to St. Helena yesterday to look at lighting and get some test shots for a little project I am working on. Driving up there yesterday morning was a dream... the mustard is so beautiful, I felt like I was driving through a painting!! After my meeting I met some of my girlfriends for lunch at Rutherford Grill. Little Miss Paige sat next to me and shared some of my chicken and mashed potatoes. So cute to watch her as she is discovering solid foods... happy, happy girl!!

{vermicelli noodle salad bowl.}

My hardworking man has to work nights this week, so I had him all to myself for lunch yesterday! A favorite lunchtime meal here in Napa is this Vermicelli Noodle Salad Bowl from The General Store... it is refreshing and full of flavor. Usually perfect for an afternoon lunch on the patio with a glass of bubbles, but these days I am settling for lemonade (and they do have a good lemonade!).  Can not wait for summer... sun and bubbles!
